        After a wonderful visit in Venice we arrived at Hotel Airone in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia. The inhabitants of this city usually just call it Reggio - it began as a Roman Colony in the 2nd Century (can you believe the history!).

        ... a cheese tray(parmesan, gorgonzola, etc). and salumi--mixed cold cuts: salami, the prosciutto. And the bread---oh, the bread! We couldn't call it a day without some gelatto to top ourselves off!

        ... golden by the autumn sun, as well as enjoying plenty of Italian feasts prepared by Anna herself.         It was wet and cold as we headed towards the South of Germany. We intended to visit Schloss (Castle) Neuschwanstein but when we arrived around lunchtime the earliest tickets we could get were for 5.00pm. We decided not to stay so continued on through Austria to Italy.
