    ... along the canal and then getting washed by all the other boats. Amazing skill how the oarsman weaves his way up the grand canal and then disappears down into the labyrinth of smaller canals .     ... in our tents. Yes, our budget had pushed us out of Venice Island into a campsite where tents were going for 10 euros. We weren't complaining though - that's a phenomenal deal in a tourist filled city. In the evening, we made our way to Venice Island and walked around in the beautiful sinking city.     ... Loved Venice... But boy is it crowded. St Mark's Square was amazing and beautiful. Walked to the Realto Bridge through tiny narrow streets lined with wonderful shops... View from the bridge was amazing. Checked out ' The Bridge of Siges' so named because this was the bridge that connected the Palace and the prison....     ... is. After unpacking we headed up to the buffet restaurant for lunch. So much choice from hotdogs, chips, salad bar, 5 different pastas, cold meats, vegies, ethnic and a dessert area. The buffet restaurant is open 20 hours a day in case you ever hungry. It is a good thing that we have taken the stairs more times than we have the lift as food is certainly bountiful.

    ... We then went up the tower and got an areal view of Venice. What an amazing view!! It was so cool! We then went to the centre bridge and did some more exploring.
