We left Roma, to head to Venice via fair Verona early yesterday morning. A short drive to Verona, a much needed stop and a quick visit to (the fictional) Juliette's balcony, also for those who believe in superstition a quick rub of her left boob for luck. We spent a lovely day walking the streets, piazzas and canals of Venice today. We then we to an Opera at the prestigious Ateneo Di San Bassi opera house in Piazza San Marco in the heart of Venice. ... one lane and finding yourself in a really cool area or even a dead end! Kind of like a maze...also found ourselves back in the same places a couple of times! We had drinks and appetizers at one place and then dinner at another! Venice so far is awesome! Amazing to see such a unique place and to think there are no cars, just the lane ways and canals is pretty incredible! They will keep up to 4 weeks. We made an onion marinade and now they are sitting for two days before we can eat them. All of this was accompanied with several glasses of Prosecco (at 10:30 a.m.!)
