Breakfast, suitcase cramming and off we go. Celia commented that her suitcase gets heavier at each stop. I think it's due to the two new pair of shoes she's gotten so far! ... airport, but from memory little has changed. There are no new buildings, and it seems the new owners have just used what buildings are there. The terminal building was where my Dad worked; the NAAFI is still there, as are the guardhouse, some married quarters, cinema and chapel, which is now a museum dedicated to the friendship between the local community and those who has served at Laarbruch. ... Moments later the siren of an ambulance could be heard approaching.



Dinner of kebabs for the girls was certainly less eventful, but as we returned to the hotel afterwards we found the square still occupied by the ambulance which had by then been joined by the police.



The girls went to bed and Mike and I, who didn’t feel like kebabs for dinner ducked downstairs for a bowl of minestrone and a glass of red wine.
