... and I went to Westfield which has over 200 stores. Is Mr Westfield from Australia?
Anyway we went straight to the food court and ate at our favourite Mexican takeaway and had some tasty Korean BBQ. I then had a craving for some hot tea and we ended up in a French bakery eating a macaroon and raspberry tart. The macaroons were so tasty with a very thick chocolate filling, Daniel was just in macaroon heaven. We wandered around some more ...
... right in the heart of the old hippy district.
As we drove down Haight, Liz said it seemed as if she was suddenly looking through a kaleidoscope! Shops, cafés and bars of every description lined the street on both sides, with the exteriors painted in every colour of the rainbow (and, as this was close to the gay area - the rainbow colouring was pretty appropriate!). Haight was the centre-point of the flower-power and hippy revival in San Francisco in the late sixties, and ...
... other and chat while the sea gently sways us. It feels so surreal and old fashioned as if we have gone back in time.
The list of positives continues to grow each day. I’ve come to love sailing and hate when we have to motor (especially without a proper autopilot). I enjoy how the days and nights become muddled together as we chip away at boat projects, read books, and entertain each other with silly stories of our travels. I love the ...
San Francisco, California, United States surfinusaAs we spend the day packing, fixing up bikes and grocery shopping the temperature climbs to 104!!!! It's never this freakin' hot at our house. It's actually almost 10 degrees cooler in the desert where Burning Man is held (or at least in Gerlach, the nearest town to the Playa).
Vinny has fixed "Eric" his bike (that I bought from a Burner named Eric) with a projector that will flash a variety of pictures onto his ...
Today we got up early-ish, had our free breakfast, bagels and OJ. Then we went downtown to catch the tram from outside the Virgin megastore, all the way down to fishermans wharf. Where we got on an Alcatraz cruise boat out to Alcatraz Island. Was super cool and sort of felt like the set of a movie, some of the buildings were falling down but the actual prison cell still had toilets and stuff, really small and can imagine it would have been freezing at night. the ...
San Francisco, California, United States richandleightWith limited time and our lack of wheels, we opted to take a guided tour through the city. Certainly not the cheapest option, but the tour we chose seemed to give us the best value ie: full 5 hours, and included a boat trip to Sausalito, and a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and all the infamous sights that make up this ...
San Francisco, California, United States foremanback to san fran once again so we unpacked and did the usual deed of washing. Took it easy and went for walks around the city. We hit the town pretty *******e night when Emily's friens Matt and his mate KC came into town. It all started with evil Tequilla shots in the house...when i felt the cheeks (on my face) tingling i knew i was in for it. After a few false cab starts ...car parking issuses with the jeep we got going. We ended up in the Ambassador where a guy in the toilets ...
San Francisco, California, United States meshell... better than the Pannier Market in Barnstaple. Eventually, our Ferry arrived for the short trip to Sausalito which is a picturesque Mediterranean Style Community which looks out to San Francisco. We passed Aurora and headed across the bay taking in the beautiful views San Francisco. Sure enough, when we arrived in Sausalito we were not disappointed. There were many tea rooms, art galleries, shops and amazing views of the bay. We had a coffee and a snack in one of the ...
San Francisco, California, United States rrybij... for me.
Next we boarded a rogue bay cruise boat which was leaving as we walked
past. This was so we could view the city and go under The Golden Gate
Bridge which is 1.2miles long and cost $35 million dollars to
build. The bridge is not actually red as i thought but is called an
international orange colour. There was no fog today. The cruise
commentary was filled with lame jokes by captains John and Jeff and
there were ...
