One of the endearingly infuriating habits of my husband (hello dear!) is that we never stay in a hotel without moving rooms once. Or twice. The first room is too noisy ( despite having pre-requested the quietest room at the back) or perhaps it is too light or too near the lift. Room 306 in the Grand Marina Hotel seemed huge and delightful. The very, very faint smell of smoke would, I thought, disappear. At 2.30 a.m ...

... have also never ever seen a queue as long either but it is well worth it! every morning we would get 2 different pastries and we bought a glass bottle for €2 and the nice lady fills it with freshly squeezed orange juice for 55 cents! Breakfast of champions! Next would be the crucial decision of pool or beach... For the first 2 days we went to the pool where we could layout on the grass and have a few games of ping pong (I still haven't won a game yet grrrr) the last 2 days ...

Wednesday 29 July
Left mid morning andheaded for Menorca. Got a pretty reasonable sail in and anchored in
a delightful, but full, cove. There were many boats attached torocks but we just anchored. It was pretty tight and luckily the catamaran anchored near us left in the evening so we reanchored wherethey were, which proved to be the right decision as the wind picked
up in the evening and we would have swung too close to the rocks for our liking.

So today was time to hit the road to Viva Espana!!! Sat Nav said it was going to take about 5 and a half hours but unfortunately that had not catered in the ****** traffic along the south cost of France. We made sure we were using the Toll Roads as always which are normally pretty reliable in France but there was ally I stop start unfortunately. I did the first few hours which were pretty straight forward as we'd managed to get away at 9:30 so not a bad time.. After my stint, we ...

To Cambrils

... deserted at this time of year.

The weather is mild enough for a pleasant walk along the promenade, to give us a little exercise after sitting in the van for several days.

By evening, it is quite cold, only 5C outside.

The Electric Hook-up here is a rather poor 6amps, so, we have to alternate between using our limited gas supply and the Electric supply to keep warm.
