... we walked to Kawah Upus which was unfortunately closed to the public. Upon speaking to a security guard it turns out the crater is closed to the public due to the level of volcanic gases now being poisonous - worth the risk for a good picture though surely? With the final stop in the park being Kawah Domas, a constantly active crater, we had to enlist a guide for this section. The walk down to the crater from Ratu was pretty steep and definitely wouldn't be ...

... magical. I was walking down the sandy wooden floor walks just imagining a cowboy shootout would happen any minute then jump on the runaway train and the men coming back from working in the gold mines and the women have just cooked a big home meal. This day was perfect as I did no expect any of this. When you walk out of this district it is like entering another world, a commercialised world. There are big buildings and a shopping centre with subway on the corner. I just wanted to ...

... than either of us thought we would. The tarps of the stalls makes good shelter from the sun and is noticeably a few degrees cooler compared to the sun.

After the cooking supply store we went to an electronics centre that was pretty impressive inside with lots of air conditioning. Very cool but nothing Kyle and I needed.

Walking through the streets, it felt a lot more third world. Buildings were significantly more dilapitated and the streets looked like they'd ...
