      ... myself for not only getting over there to be a part of the service, but also understanding a lot of the words spoken throughout. I couldn’t tell you what the message was, but I heard hermanos, esperanza, bon día, manos and many others. :D Perhaps next time I venture over, I will be able to piece together some of the words and make comprehendible sentences in my head to understand the meaning of the message. Poco a poco. For now, I am satisfied.

      ... mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. Without a single thread of complaint, I ended up making nearly all of the dishes. As per usual, I was running around a few hours beforehand because there were things I still needed, but in the end... everyone was smiling, satisfied, and thankful. It was so satisfying for me to, in not so many words, have the approval of all these new friends over my food, that once they were all speaking in Spanish again, ...

      ~Ses Salines. (11/22/14) Natural Park where the salt mining is done. It was pretty cool. Unfortunately, we went to see the flamingos and only saw one while we were still in the car driving a decent speed. Our “guide” (another friend of a friend) said they come more when its cold so perhaps we will try again another time. :D

      The weeks are passing and my smile continues. There are days where I feel alone in the world, like I have been stranded on a deserted island. Most days that last part is visually painstaking true, but the people that have entered my life make me feel as though I am just living in a small town with life in its people, not its streets.
