... We found a nice place for lunch down by the water and enjoyed a nice long lunch of pasta and wine. Tonight we are eating out and can pick from a few local restaurants that our tour director has recommended. Tunnel after tunnel we went through. We were then into more open countryside where the Italians grow their rice. They are harvesting now and the crops look pretty good. Antipasti, marinated something or other, mussels, tempura, fish; we worked out that there were about 9 courses in all, and had we not been full, another course would have been provided. Today we had a very relaxed day at Lake Maggiore. It was only a 55 minute train ride away. What a difference a few kms makes. It is a very large lake, once again half Italian and half Swiss.

We arrived in the town of Stress. It was so quiet and peaceful I think it should be called De-Stresa.

We went for a stroll along the edge with the most amazing hotels overlooking ...
