      Vinegar and whine

      ... to get stuck into their wine. Unfortunately their wine is near undrinkable. It is borderline vinegar. The corks in the bottles were pulled before we sat down, and inspection of the cork reveals no cork screw marks, or staining from the red wine. We suspect they are refilling and semi - corking bottles. There are a few others in the group who show the same distaste to the wine, although some lesser educated budget back packers are greedily getting stuck ...

      ... of actually standing there and looking straight up into this near 15ft tall marble statue in person. The kids surprisingly had a great time at the museum too.

      We continued to walk through the city and made a couple of stops at Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Signoria for pictures and a little history lesson. I have to say I was pretty amazed by how well the kids were holding up the entire time... ...

      ... amp; friends visiting at very late hours in the morning!

      Florence is a lovely city except the dog **** and **** everywhere! There is no gardens or parks anywhere for dogs to do their business so you had to watch where you walked.

      We had the yummiest Italian meal in Florence, I was so lucky to find a restaurant that had its own Gluten Free menu! I was so excited of the various options. I had a bruschetta

      ... I did not expect to feel a little uneasy. Perhaps it is the distinctive old smell of timber, stone and furniture, or the quiet that accompanies the vastness of this castle at night. Perhaps I was a little too tired !!!
