I had such a great day in Cinque Terre that I decided not to try to repeat it again today and instead to go to Florence for a night on my way to Venice. I took the train from Riomaggiore to La Spezia where I bought my new tickets and had lunch at the market a few blocks from the train station while waiting for my train to Pisa and then Florence. Only going to stay in Florence tonight and then I will be off to ...

... and it was a little intense seeing all of the buildings and roofs were the exact same two colors. Then we walked to the top of the inside and got a good view of the murals on the ceiling of the cathedral. By the time we were down the stairs my legs were extremely shaky from all the nerve it took to climb up and down the church. The next stop was a statue museum called Bargello that personally I found a little underwhelming. We then grabbed some vegan sandwiches at a deli I had ...

... I did not expect to feel a little uneasy. Perhaps it is the distinctive old smell of timber, stone and furniture, or the quiet that accompanies the vastness of this castle at night. Perhaps I was a little too tired !!!

... However, there is always a little OMG, how old is this thing!).

J hmm not much else to say, perhaps it's just that I am so weary and still need to wait for the washing to finish so I can iron my travelling clothes. Out next journal entry will be from Riomaggiore on the Cinque Terre. Coastal breezes and the smell of salt..... it's famous for seafood.... go figure! So does this mean we will have other things on the ...

    ... I would've cried. I nearly did. Holy **** I don't even.

That fresco is the most impressive thing I've seen, really, seriously. The planning is insane. The forshortening is great, they dealt with the shape of the dome so well, I just. Holy ****.

And the church underneath was super interesting as well and a lot more Roman, haha. (Of course, there were Medici buried down there as well. Fffff.)

    Seriously though.
