... the Orvieto train station, you have to take the funicular to get into the city, which is a pretty awesome cable car that takes you straight up the steep slope and under the city walls and drops you off in the historic part of the city. At the end of the day in the hot sun, our last stop was a quick dip in the cool waters of Lake Bolsena. We stopped on the side of the road, where we saw a small entrance to the water, cooled off for a bit and layed on the grass, soaking in the beautiful Tuscan sun.

... effect. The place is pretty dirty and apparently pretty dangerous at night. Walked to the old town which was filth and had many gangs lurking – the army was even called in at one stage to clean up the city. Although the main plus- this is the town that developed pizza, so we ordered and it was geewwwd. Also tried some aranchini- deep fired risotto goodness!
