    ... of the village was D E D dead. The atmosphere from the September wine festival was severely lacking, and people were not particularly friendly. We stood in the town square where the kids had danced and danced, and we had tasted so many lovely wines, but that was about it.     ... and streets. Our place is just up the hill, of course, from a large plaza that has several restaurants and shops, with a very large church building.     ... a typically Tuscan butcher, specialising in boar, tripe and other meats. We walked into the shop and were immediately offered bread with olive oil, bread with pork fat (not as horrible as it sounds) and a glass of chianti. (Do you think the butcher at the 'Extra Fresh' would offer that if I asked him?!)
