      ... and lovely sights. We initially had a look at the Church of San Francesco, which had the Capella Baci with beautiful paintings on the wall and ceiling. We then walked to find the Grande Piazza, which is the one they used to film MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE – it has a lovely area with steps, portico etc. and apparently you can do a tour to see all these places.       ... and grittier than others we’ve used, but overall it was okay and worked just as advertised. There are only two routes so that makes it pretty easy to navigate. (The map you gave us was awesome Sarah and came in really handy to sort out where we were going)

      First stop the Coliseum – the Arena we’d seen in Nimes was a lot more preserved but this is just huge – 70 000 people could fit in there (beats Eden Park for the RWC final) – ...

      ... Finally our favourite Pizzaria had opened its outdoor area for the summer and we sat out there for a fantastic meal in the ever changing square we had grown to love even more having shared some great moments there over the week.

      This was to be our last night in Figline and at I Gelsi and we went to bed feeling sad that we needed to go the next morning. That sadness was to last a while.

      ... meats, cheeses, and arts and crafts of the Siena region. We bought salami, prosciutto, cheese, wine, oranges and artichokes. By the way, this was our inaugural attempt at cooking artichokes and we're not sure we got it right, although they tasted very good. Any suggestions would be appreciated! At the market, there are also performances by stilt walkers and jugglers throughout the day.

      Last night we went out to a cafe called Hermes (Enzo the owner LOVES the college students and has flags,etc. hanging on the walls and he plays Italian MTV on the TV) for chocolate cualda, which like hot chocolate but thicker... kinda similar to melted ice cream but hot, It was DELICIOUS!!
