Glorious Venice, our first stop in Italy, and what better place to start. This was a crazy little city with its cute little alleys, secret hideaways and lets not forget the tranquil water that flowed in every which direction. We had been given advice to flag the map and just get lost, best advice ever! That is exactly what we did and we literally spent the day ducking and diving around all the unknown corners and alleys and we found the best pizza ...

... 5-1 set semi-final win today. Straight into the GF next week. They reckon me leaving is a bit like Buddy leaving Hawthorn. Makes them stronger. Askr the cat doing well- looks a bit grumpy though, while the Bonney family report that Ripley has settled in well. Looks like really well! Thanks Emilia, Thomas, Laura, Jane & Steve. ...

We arrived at Ancona at 730am. Our ferry cabin was comfortable and we slept quite well. We were a little confused on walking to the train station and unfortunately no one spoke English. We managed to get a train to the main train station and ran to catch the train recommended by the information lady. After changing trains we arrived at Florence but got off 1 stop early. Luckily we were together. An old man got of after us and ...

For my thirtieth birthday we decided to interrupt our travelling with a week long stop in a villa in Tuscany with eight of our friends.

The villa was up in the hills between Pisa and Florence, along some rather death defying tracks, including a section through the closest village where the houses were barely further apart than the car was wide, made slightly more difficult by the ...

... as i am sitting up so straight!!

After breakfast we had a 11am
appointment at Libby and Vicentes to drop off the fan (we don’t need any
more and they will definitely need with the hot summer ahead) and a little
gift we bought them. Mary and Libby were then meeting Michelle in front of
Chiesa San Leonardo…I walked with Mary until the chiesa then left her to her
          own devices …

I walked around Lucca Centro for
a while then made my way ...
