Snowballing in the figurative sense that is. The day itself was bright and sunny. Forecast was for -10 to 0 degrees, but we didn't have to go out, so I was able to skip a few layers - even put on a skirt.

... only think that I'm glad I wore trousers to school as we zip in and around traffic with everyone staring at this strange westerner with blonde hair on a bike.....no helmets here I'm afraid!!

Well it turned out to be a fantastic night with a sumptuous feast, lot of fun and laughter!! I did find it strange that they were all English teachers but spoke Chinese all night!!! No wonder the students need help with their spoken English!!!

... then what part of the world cannot say the same ... the old ways are being replaced by the internet and satellite TV ...

My only issue is the censorship ... but having just spent and afternoon in Beijing ... I don't think it is going to last very long ... here I sit in a coffee shop, on a borrowed laptop, surrounded by about 50 Chinese all with their laptops on WIFI ... could be in any caff in Europe or the USA!
