Today we left the UK! We got a taxi to St Pancras, after checking out (and getting £30 off our bill as the bathroom sink had been blocked for 2 days even though we told several people no attempt was made to fix it), checked in to Eurostar and sat down to have some breakfast before the train. Last night there were loads of Police in town in full riot gear, yes I did pay my bill, also army with big guns. Mind you this is an army town with special forces out at an old fort (16 century).

I had my first icecream of the trip yesterday, lemon sorbet so sharp it makes you pucker up lovely.
