Corfu was surprisingly warm today, around the mid 70s, which was warm enough for us to spend some time at the Aqualand water park. I've never been to a larger water park and we make is just in time before they closed for the winter. Me and my buddies played around until it began to get cool towards the late afternoon.

This morning we visited the ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece mylifesjourney... little ladies. Woosh. I don't know what they put in the Southern American water, but whenever a latin beat comes on, the little 80-year old gals throw their walkers to the side, stand up and start gyrating their hips in 360 directions without a second's hesitation. And their husband's do the same. It makes you feel like a teenager just watching them. It's so, so great.

Okay, I think that may be all I have for updates right now. I've taken a zillion photos and even some ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece josiezim... stumbled onto his knees and nearly projected them headfirst onto the brick path. It then proceeded to veer towards every tourist who was walking, attempting to crush them against the rock wall. Much arm waving and untranslatable obscenities did nothing to deter this donkey from his mission. Between tourists he would attempt to wipe Ryan and Chris from his back by rubbing against every telephone pole. From several zig zags up the hill all Robyn could ...

Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelle... fishes in it amazing. Ian rang me to tell me that he was in a little cafe up on the village and that the village was brilliant really Greek so I think he is happy that we are getting out of here so that we can see a bit more of the island tomorrow. He came to the beach and ended up having a swim and we had a lovely lunch in the taverna and had a really nice day. The guys from the hostel where on the beach and we had a little chat with them. <br ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelle... in it a terrace with dirty tables and stuff Ian picked this place because it included breakfast and dinner and he thought that after all this time together we might like to talk to some other travellers. The room Brian took us to had the same sheets on that someone the night before had used and as you cant flush toilet papers down the loo the bin also had lots of used toilet paper in it. The only redeeming feature ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelle... All of this is assuming the bus actually runs according to the posted times - not necessarily a safe assumption. I decided it wasn't worth risking it and would head to Butrint the next morning, spending that day in Sarande. There really isn't much to see or do in Sarande. I spent some time walking along the shoreline, but it wasn't nearly as pretty as the shoreline in Croatia or Montenegro. That afternoon it started to drizzle a bit and there ...
Sarande, Albania laura1... the Venetians in 1386, eventually being abandoned in favor of a fort elsewhere in the bay. Today, the ruins from all these periods create a wonderful site to explore. I think I was the only visitor to Butrinti today, but it was a gloriously sunny day, probably somewhere above 20 degrees and perfect for wandering the layered ruins. I start with a 15th century Venetian guard tower, then dive back in time to a 2300 year old theater and slightly more recent ...
Butrint, Albania kally563... a pair of cat-like ears atop a pair of glowing yellow eyes within striking distance of my right arm. I jumped up in shock and the creature disappeared silently through the grilles on the window and in the blink of an eye. "What's going on ?", Michelle asked, alarmed at my sudden spasmodic movement but still half-asleep. "There's a cat in the room", I said. "Chivers", Michelle sighed as she rolled over and went back to sleep. I lay in bed, my mind spinning, thinking "Was there really anything there ?".
