... smoke before continuing their journey. We conquered a lot of ground in one day, putting my dad's 10,000 steps to shame (I think we surpassed that before lunch). Walking, and taking the odd transit between sites, we crossed a few districts off the guide book. Asakusa, Marunouchi, Roppongi and Shiba were all worth while in our first day of exploring. So what of Tokyoites? It's apparent early on that we're going to find it difficult to communicate; few people we've encountered speak English and our Japanese barely extends beyond sushi, asahi and arigato (thanks)! At least we won't starve! However, what has struck us already is their ...

... of the market we were intercepted by a market police officer. He told us we can not be here before 9:00am, and said he had to escort us out. We had known this before, but to be honest did not know where we truly were until that point, so we went with him away from the inner market. Once out of the inner market and back into the rain, Kim decided the sad eyes of the big eyed grouper and many octopus alike the ones we have seen scuba diving where enough for her and ...
