The Pinball Wizard and Apocalyptic Snow

... the severe weather sapping what energy we do have, I for one will not be sorry to see the end of this winter. Stefan is 60 in 10 days time and neither of us is getting any younger. I have got very few bookings for the summer and no self-catering, but am not that bothered. We will manage and at least I don’t have to leave the place for idiots to wreak havoc. It’s time to move on and let someone younger and with renewed enthusiasm to take the business on ...

The "I-threw-away-my-crutches-and-never-nee ded-them-again" kind of miracles that defy medical science (is that the right term today?) ...

... on this month on his way back from Spain and was held up for several hours on the autoroute just outside Toulouse because it was blocked by tractors. The farmers are not happy with changes to the agricultural policy. He made it to the ferry with just 10 minutes to spare! It’s no wonder the French are the laughing stock of Europe. It upsets me to see this amazing country sinking more into recession because they all have tÍtes de bois ...

It was a long 5 hour drive today to get to the Pyrenees but it was worth every minute of it to round a corner and see the snow capped mountains in the distance. We arrived at our campsite at Bagneres de Bigorre just south of Tarbes in the Haut Pyrenees about 2pm and were amazed to see the elusive yellow ball (aka the sun) in the sky….yeee haaa!!

Our campsite is stunning, situated at the foot of the Pyrenees, there are currently only 2 vans staying ...
