Through the patter of rain on top of my tent I can hear the frogs still insistent on their mating calls, procreation is on their reptilian minds tonight. Obviously, right in the centre of the city, there is a house in which Mikołaj Kopernik used to live; it's now converted into a museum. Another interesting thing to see is a Gothic cathedral, unfortunately a bit overpriced, and closed most of the time. Strangely enough, Toruń ...

Torun is gorgeous. Like Gdansk but more so. More of the older churches, cobblestone streets, medieval walls … No hostels near the old town so I stay at a hotel from the 19th century. Pretty outside, character but basic inside. This is the first town that I have seen a public WIFI service. Yeah! The flood of blog will begin.

I am starving. No lunch yet again. I am not sure if I have yet to have 3 meals in a day. Too much going on. I ...

... station and we shared a cab. As it turns out they were also on the same train but they were travelling further south than I was. On the train there were 2 Polish men who were probably in their mid 30s. At first there wasn't a lot of chatting going on but as the Polish men drank more beer (the train left Gdansk at 9am by the way) they loosened up a bit and tried to chat even though they didn't have much if any English. I didn't find any youth hostel in the centre (I've learn afterwards, that there was one...but not in my guide, but foundable in internet), so I staid in one of the hostel...5 times more expensive than the regular youth hostel...ups. But it worthed it, because I had time to see the center the evening and the morning before continuing my trip.

... flowers on "our" gravesite while they clean theirs. Well it turns out that the people in question where actually the neighbors of cocia Juta and they treat them as family. They actually go to the the Kopcewicz graves in Lipno and take care of them as there own. My dad and his infinite memory rambles off some names and suddenly all makes sense. The women's husband was the favorite of cocia Juta. They now live in cocia Juta's old place etc ...

I contemplated calling Asia thinking she maybe in town for All Saints Day but I decide against it. Dad and I are having a cementary-krieg today and we really don't have the time. We get to Torun and ask information about a Bar Mleczna. I also notice they are selling the elusive Filutek T-shirt. I've been trying to track down a Filutek shirt ...

I wake up at 5am to dad snoring uncontrollably loud. I know he can't help it (deviated septum) but dear god, the snoring could wake the dead. I feel bad for pops with all the driving he's done and don't wake him. I put my long johns on, jeans and all sorts of warm clothing, blankets and pillow and go to the car. I end up waking up the receptionist due to the fact that she needs to unlock the door so I can get out. I try various positions and finally fall "asleep" for ~3 hours. I ...

... Torun during the time he was alive. This included three loaves of bread, a few cannonballs, a collection of leeches in a jar, and the ingredients for gingerbread along with the recipe. It was a rather odd collection of items. I couldn't find the gingerbread museum since it didn't seem to exist on any map and each person who gave me directions to it obviously had no clue where it was either ...
