... we both arrived back tot he hotel later that night to a text message from Noma's mum saying that her new little cousin Hannah Louise Jackson had finally arrived! <br><br>What a day.... one of the best it has to be said.<br><br>So today (23rd Oct) we are off to the main town of Fira for dinner and then it's off to Crete for a couple of nights then back to Athens to get some history!!<br><br>Hope you all enjoying our adventures! we are!!!<br><br>Until next time<br><br>Us<br><br>xx<br><br><br>

Well, a very enjoyable last night in Santorini. had dinner at a lovely restaurant overlooking the sunset strip. Pity it wasn't the clearest of nights but still spectacular.<br>Dinner consisted of grilled pork with pureed red pepper and potatoes with cheese and Souvlaki Lamb with baked potato.<br>A 5.00 am start got us on to the flight to Athens then Rome.

After a sleep in we wandered into town to choose a suitable location for our anniversary dinner tonight (21 years!).<br>As usual we just had to take more photos ~ don't worry, after a few more tonight this will be all of Santorini.<br>Next, Italy where the forecast is 0 to 14 degrees. BRR BRR

After an hour or so walking over the lava flows we motored on to some hot springs where hardier folk than us braved an icy plunge into the sea to reach the warm springs.(Hey we're used to tropical waters!)<br>Soon we moored at Thirasia Island for a couple of hours for lunch and Mythos at waterfront tavernas which are still much as they were 50 years ago.<br>Tomorrow is our last day here so we are making the most of the sun, as the forecast for Italy is bloody freezing

The typical white buildings and blue domes were in abundance with breathtaking views. <br>Corfu was our next and final port of call, and in contrast with the barren landscape of Santorini, we were met with a fairly lush and green island. ... one of the headlines was that 900 extra police had just been deployed to Naples to quell the mafia's recent violent outbursts. We were happy to move right along to Rome where we had a quick walk from the train station to our hostel. We dumped our luggage and dove right in to the city. ... took a bus to the town of Oia, which is famous for its spectacular sunsets. The lookout is perched on the top of the ridge at the top point of the island, and our group hiked the 10 minutes through the winding streets to set up a picnic and watch this famous sight. To be honest, i think the whole of Santorini was up there, as it was so busy and there were people everywhere. ... things in greek which made the donkeys start running up the slippery slope. We had a fun 10 min donkey ride!! (cost us 4 euro each and the other older couple with us paid 5 euro he changed the price a second later!!! dodgey!!) We're going to eat at a fancy restarant tonight (why not we're on holidays in beautiful santorini) treating ourselves with seafood (Colin) and a massive ice cream sundae (Tameka). Till next time!! Hi all, Still on Ios; it's a very cheap very scenic and very fun island so I've delayed my departure. I was all set to head off to Istanbul today but thought better of it. Path would have been 3 ferries including an overnighter followed by a 7 hour bus ride from kousalas on the turkish coast to Istanbul. 24 hours all total and I would have to turn around 48 hours later to get back. I'm sure I would have loved istanbul but I wasn't prepared to cough up 48 hours ...
