... interesting to note that after the rain that had fallen in the past couple of days there was a huge amount of rock and volcanic sand strewn across the roads.

As sunset approached we found ourselves back at Oia. The rain and clouds put paid to any ideas of a magnificent sunset, but we saw the bay of Ammoudiou and Jess had a close encounter with a donkey. We decided to keep the car for another day.

It took us almost an hour to reach the village of Imerovigli, another town perched impossibly on the top of the cliffs. Although there was nothing open in this town except the supermarket, this allowed us to get the water we needed (but not the coffee stop we craved...)

We were told that the walk to Oia is two hours, but the literature (once we read it) said 3 hours. We took more than four ...

... true. We had SUCH an incredible time, and we can't stop talking about it with each other and going through our pictures over and over and over again. I am so thankful to have been able to go... I have always dreamed of visiting the Greek islands. HIGHLY recommended, you must go if you ever get the chance. It's like a different world.  It's nice to be back in Italy, but I do miss the friendly Greek people. Italians are too cool for their own good ...

... my whole life as i did that night. Me, one of the guys and one of the girls decided to dedicate a plate to the crusts, as we observed that since it was "all you can eat" we werent going to waste this opportunity by filling ourselves up on the flavourless parts. I should have taken a photo of all the crusts by the end, as the pile was mighty spectacular. i cannot advise you on how many pieces i consumed, as i lost count after the 4th or the 5th. but they were mighty delicious ...

... and gave them 3 options, 500 euros for the damage, 1 on 1 fight OR jail. They took the money option and wondered why they stayed at the scene of the crime! The was the entertainment fot the night and we called it a night had an early one. On the ferry early the next day (Maree I think you were still drunk) to head back to Athens! The Busabout Greek Island Hopping tour is definitely recommended. What an experience it was and many memories and friendship we will take with us!

From there, Adrian, my roommate for a week in my bungalow and now my roommate again in my new apartment, and I went to Orange Bar. Orange Bar is famous in Ios for its Malteser shots. What they do is take a bottle full of Maltesers (malted milk balls) pour in vodka, melt ...
