... in the late afternoon after a fun-filled and frenetic morning as I talked about in the previous blog. We made our way from Rome to Foggia on the high-speed train. This baby cuts through the countryside at about 150mph—quite the experience. The first two hours we covered the most ground. The last hour was less high speed and more rocking, swaying and jostling speed (made me a bit motion sick). In any case we arrived ...

... hour delay to refill with gelato, visit an ATM and see a barber (more on that in another blog). We arrived in Manfedonia just as it was getting dark to a 4 room B&B over looking the harbor in the center of town. It took about 4 hours' drive from Marina di Camerota through some wonderful countryside. Federico and Anna Marie (his wife) made us ...

... is some shopping in town and packing to head out on Sunday. On Sunday we head to Pompeii. I am looking forward to seeing that! Also, on the way is the town of Morcone, which I recently found out is the town where our great great grandfather (Patrizio) and our great great great grandfather (Giuseppe) Nucciarone was from (thanks to Lauretta, our distant relative through DNA).

Ciao for now!
