... arriving in Monterosso at 3 in the afternoon but tourism office was closed. Tried to get room at hostel in Riomaggiore at 4 in the afternoon but it was closed. I'm beginning to sense a pattern here. I always had an image of italy being a historic and natural paradise but being ran by a bunch of lazy and incompetent people (mainly due to a line in a NOFX song where Fat Mike sings that "Everything in Italy is stuck or broken down").

... room so we at least had a place to stay. Jamie had a better idea. Check the bags and get some beer! It was going to be hours till we could see an agent, checked our bags, which took an hour, went back to notice our number was about 30 away from being called. Did the math real quick in my head and thought it should take 20 minutes for our number to be called.
