... two of them had decided to start splashing themselves to cool down in the water they were worried might have fish and in the way of the photo's Phil was trying to take.. Between bits of english and italian, and apparently spanish I had a conversation with them as they wanted to know where we were going and for how long, and then they almost always finished sentences with 'bella italia'. What a laugh some conversations are when you mix up languages ...

June 7th, 2013 After our over night train we had a transfer at 8:00 am in Venice to a train to Florence. We then transferes in Florence to a smaller and slower train going through Pisa and stopping in La Spezia. We knew it was going to be a long travel night and day, so we had packed snacks like granola bars, juice boxes, and apples, which we ate all throughout the morning. Upon arriving in Monterosso we quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed to the beach. The water felt so great. The pebbly beach meant the water was very clear. It felt amazing to float after all of that hiking.
