... From Riomaggiore, we went to Manarola, where we had our first gelato for the day. This section of the hike was (relatively) short, although also the most hilly. We then continued on to Corniglia, with about a 2 hour hike between towns. By the time we arrived, everyone was starving, so we went to a local shop to get meat, cheese, and bread for our standard picnic food. ... train ride to Riomaggiore (usually people avoid this situation by just walking the via dell' amore [the walking trail connecting Manarola to Riomaggiore], but it was closed, like the others). Came back to room and took shower.

... to most of the tour groups from the cruise ships. Once we had our daily intake of pizza and gelato we parked up for the afternoon at the free part of the beach.
