The beds in Italy are two 6" thick twin pads put together and wrapped up in a queen sheet. Not the best sleep but since we have had a drinking and eating marathon for the past 3 nights we had no problem sleeping in. Wanted to get to the massive marble church, Duomo, early ahead of the crowds but sleep was needed or we would have been a mess. Poor Jamie. ... storm with lighting and thunder that bounced off of every mountain face making the sounds last forever. We woke up to rain, however it didn't last long. We were still able to take the boat from one end to the other and saw stunning views of all towns. We spend the afternoon exploring Vernazza and spent the evening back in riomaggiore. ... of stone walls on the farming terraces. There are so many of the stone walls that they add up to the same length as the Great Wall of China. The next order of business is to find the train station for a train schedule and look into the Cinque Terre card for local transportation. We walked through a really long tunnel between the harbor and the train station; all along the tunnel wall was mosaic that was really very cool.

... happy. Now we're near Cinque Terre by the ocean where I think all of us could spend weeks laying in the sun and swimming in the blue water. Check out our view from where we're staying but and you may want to book a trip here too! Next we're staying with Aless' family in Cosenza in sourthern Italy for 5 nights and then up to Naples and Benevento to stay with Aless' other family! I'm so excited to meet them...hopefully we'll get to learn how to make fresh pasta?? Ciao from ...
