On our second day, we checked out some of the other rooms that were available but in the end decided to stay where we were. We have a side window which makes for a nice breeze in the morning and we do not get nearly the sun that some of the other rooms do in the afternoon.

Relaxing under the stars with a great bottle of wine, good food, and magical surroundings is a wonderful welcome to Greece. We cruised past the white beach, red beach, and finally enjoyed the sunset off the south side of the island. ...

... up top. I ordered a local white wine, Michelle a cocktail, and some taziki dip with bread. It was all great, except there was a building blocking us from a perfect view of the domes. So, we moved over a few buildings to another restaurant, Terpsi. We went upstairs to the patio, and wow – what a view! It was perfect. Terpsi was our single-most favorite place on the trip. I could have stayed forever. We ordered an appetizer of fried greek cheese (delicious as ...

... by bus. These ancient ruins date back to 18th century BC settlements when the town was buried in volcanic ash. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything this old barring the Egyptian Pyramids. We then checked out the red beach there (the sand/stones are red, surprise surprise!) and cooled off with a beer at a café on the shore. For lunch, we feasted on local delicacies like grilled octopus, Santorini Salad (olives, ...
