Sicily never fails to amaze with its ancient monuments. Segesta and Selinunte were a fascinating day trip. Both were built around 400 centuries BC, the earliest and most important Greek colonies in Sicily.

... of serious neglect. Meandered through the old section of town, passed the cathedral and various churches and came across some ruins, exceptional information in multiple languages. Stopped for a coffee which expanded into lunch, and then, had to try the ricotta cake. Made by the owners wife who had come out to discuss the dolce. There went the healthy eating plan!

... It was actually pretty boring.

We were given 2 hours free time in San Vito Lo Capo. All this town had to offer was a long sandy (yellow) beach on the Mediterranean - actually a very nice beach - and restaurants (hundreds of them).

Why is it that whenever we get free time in a town it's always between 1.00pm and 4.40pm when all the shops (except restaurants) are closed for siesta? Well, tough titties Italy, I will have to spend all my money in ...

... have a choice of bus... The views walking along were awesome, and heightened the sense of adventure... Till i got to a crossroads and had no idea which way to go! Luckily I flagged down a car and was able to check with them. I wasn't successful finding anybody going in my direction till I got onto the autostrada (motorway), where there was an old guy setting up a stall and called me over to ask where I was going... When he gave me a proposition to join ...
