... seaweed that was really dense. At first I thought they were sea eggs.

The highlight of the day would have to be the herd of about 40 goats that crossed the road in front of us. Every goat had a large bell around its neck and the music from these bells was amazing. It was like someone was playing the xylophone! We stopped and listened for about ten minutes. Some of the larger goats were standing on their hind legs and eating out of the trees!

It is a special day tomorrow in Greece. It's called Ohi Day or No Day and is celebrated throughout Greece and Greek communities around the world on October 28 each year, to commemorate the rejection by Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Mextaxas of the ultimatum made by Italian dictator Mussolini on October 28 in 1940 demanding that Greece allow Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy certain strategic locations ...

With accommodations 150m away from the beach and 200m away from the town's main promenade, we were perfectly positioned in Chora. Caleb's schooling routine now established, he began the day with 1hr "Phys. Ed." With dad on the beach, 2hrs of the R's with me, lunch, and then time to explore before dinner at a seaside taverna. What bliss.

Beyond the town lies greater Naxos: tiny villages ...

My third Greek island was Syros. We sailed from Mykonos and reached the Eastern side of the island in the evening. Most of us chose to go for a walk through the town centre which was a twenty minute walk from the port. We stopped at a gelato shop because many were craving it and some needed Internet and a power plug. After this visit we caught taxis to the port to prepare for dinner and then headed back into ...

... one gyro so far so I needed another one so Matt (the Gilman guy) and I split off. We went from bar to bar before eventually winding up at Sweet Irish Cream around around 4. Matt headed out pretty quickly but at that point we had already joined up with the Canadians from the hostel and mostly danced with these Irish girls. Eventually the lights came on and they told everyone to leave. When we got out it wasn't even sunrise it ...
