We asked about three bus companies how to get to Assos from Ayvalik...no one gave a direct answer...we didn't have our Lonely Planet map with us at the time so just had to trust the bus companies would get us where we wanted to go! Spent quite some time on the forward deck with B&M looking at the islands and trying to work out their names. What a shame there's no commentary about this. However, as the wind was brisk and chilling I got use out of my jacket and scarf. Smug me. It's fun ...

... roam, forage and fornicate. My morning swimming companions each day bring big plastic bags full of scraps for the big pack living by the docks, and when the dogs hear the old motor bikes approaching, they go into a frenzied, yelping Pavlovian dance.

Missing is the parents' generation, who should be policing their children on illegal bikes. We found some of them at a big Greek wedding this morning, in a beautiful church ...
