... morning was the best kangaroo show ever. We were able to see two males boxing and two females carrying joeys. We checked into our new place after church. We ate at a really good mexican place for lunch while we watched a short rain storm come through.

6th Day - Thursday was go kart day for us and friends. The guys had ...
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia tripleb... limbs for the remainder of this trip. We're then going to meander around the town and meet up with some of Amy's friends at a French Patisserie for some live music. It's winter here, so it's a bit chilly (around 20 during the day... not bad for winter, but still cool!), so I'll be headed up the coast some more in the next few days to get into the heat... and the endless days of lying on the beach, people-watching, and having nothing to do but enjoy life ...
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia llessard2011We spent a beach day and did some diving from the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba in Queensland. On Wednesday (May 13), we finally had a good weather beach day, and Sandi was very happy. On Thursday we dove the HMAS Brisbane wreck and the local aquarium (Underwater World) Shark Tank. Yes, really, we scuba dove in an aquarium. The HMAS Brisbane was a 440-ft long missle destroyer, built in the US in 1967. She served ...
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia bradandsandi... the weather so headed further up the coast to Mooloolaba and Maroochydore. In a spur of the moment decision we found ourselves in Underwater World - the largest aquarium in the Southern Hemisphere. Saw lots of wierd and wonderful sealife creatures, including a demonstration of sealions and seals and a walkthrough tunnel where sharks and stingrays swim all around you. After spending a couple of hours in the aquarium ...
Tropische Pflanzen, Lianen, blutende Bäume, Goanas, Papageien, usw ...
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia pacificocean... much the area between the coast and the outback. yeah. pretty much. typical hinterland brush and trees surround Lana's house and there are TONS of birds because of it. i'm constantly seeing new species and having to look them up... i can't even name them all, most of them types of parrots and all very noisy. i was lucky enough to land a job the day after i got into town, at a cute little cafe that makes ...
Bli Bli, Queensland, Australia katelin... Zoo', a big park that had been set up by Steve Irwin, the 'Crocodile Hunter' of TV fame to show people the need for animal conservation. It was very well laid out and all the animals seemed to have plenty of space and were well looked after. There were demonstrations of elephants, camels, wild birds, crocodiles and snakes and most of the indigenous Aussie animals on view. It was interesting to see roos, wallabies and koalas close up but there somehow wasn't the same ...
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia harryandnorah... and watching the tigers (I had to be nagged to leave). The zoo is really well equipped and they even put on a free bus to/from Noosa (an hour from the zoo). It was a great day especially going with a group of friends. Spent 3 nights in Noosa, on day 2 Ryan had a surfing lesson and I met him afterwards where we walked to the National Park. The first thing we ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia tripofalifetime... of time getting used to the steering on the cannoe but got there in the end. We reached the camp site after about 1.5hrs and got the tents up. We just sat playing cards and chatting previous groups who were there already. They did not seem to be enjoying the excursions up the river which we had planned for the next day...but we thought we'd give it ago anyway as there was nothing else to do. The next day we paddled up river for about another 1 ...
Noosa, Australia smc_mahon... park. Arriving at the park, we were greeted by two rangers from the Caboolture Shire Commission, Ed and Shane. Shane would be our day-to-day assistant, while Ed was on hand to give us an informative, detailed introduction to the uses of the park, its wildlife and how man has changed the area over the years. Weeding, weeding, weeding would be our main task. Many invasive species have taken over the shores and prohibit the native plants ...
