... socialising and catching up with each other. The people we have spoken to are really friendly and have a good chat to you. The elderly ladies in the street usually give you a big smile and say 'Kalimera'.

We took the little red car and headed off South to look at some temple ruins and some of the beaches. Demeter's Temple ruins were from 500BC with an amazing backdrop of mountains.
We were the only people there and I think we only saw about ...

It is a special day tomorrow in Greece. It's called Ohi Day or No Day and is celebrated throughout Greece and Greek communities around the world on October 28 each year, to commemorate the rejection by Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Mextaxas of the ultimatum made by Italian dictator Mussolini on October 28 in 1940 demanding that Greece allow Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy certain strategic locations ...

Naxos was a wonderful choice for our first Greek island experience. With accommodations 150m away from the beach and 200m away from the town's main promenade, we were perfectly positioned in Chora. What bliss.

Beyond the town lies greater Naxos: tiny villages ...

... arrived at Tinos quite by chance – we were meant to be going to Mykanos but during the booking, we made a mistake as there are two Agios Ioannis beaches, one on each island. After a 10 minute ride from the port to the hotel, we discovered that our little multi coloured family run hotel was just one sandy street away from the beach. The beach was calm and shallow and the water was full ...

... to be going on a Pirate Ship - a boat cruise to some ocean swim spots and a private beach. We went down to reception to meet the group, but everyone seemed really sullen and flat. Apparently, a few minutes after we'd left the night before, some of our boys from the tour somehow got into a fight with a bunch of other Aussies at the third club. It apparently was about 20 guys onto about 5 of our guys, and one of ours got four of his front teeth KICKED OUT! The poor guy ...
