We got up later and went to breakfast about 9:00. Shortly after we got back from breakfast we started watching football. This was different than I have ever experienced before because Erin does fantasy football and she kept changing the channel to watch the players on her team. We were on our computers and reading and watching the football, sort of. At 12:45 Derek and I left for a walk. We walked toward town and then headed south toward the ...

Larry, Derek and I were up and out of the hotel by 8:45 on our way to Sleeping Lady Resort on Icicle Road. Breakfast was at the hotel/motor inn and was pretty typical of a continental breakfast with the exception of the biscuits and gravy. There was a naturalist led bird walk at the resort at 9:00. We met at the Gazebo in the Organic Garden with Heather and her husband and about 15 other people. The garden was full of birds all flitting and ...

We got on 84 and headed east exiting at Mosier. In Mosier there is a section of Old 30 that is now a paved bike path between Hood River and Mosier. Near the Mosier end there are two tunnels and an avalanche shed mostly to keep ...

    ... swimming suits, etc..)

Hard to believe that one week from now will find us boarding a plane in Vancouver, B.C, where we'll fly overnight to Heathrow, arriving Monday afternoon. We're hoping to knock ourselves out on the flight with ZzzQuil, so we can wake feeling refreshed enough to enjoy our first stop - Avebury - on the way to our lodging for the first night.

Hopefully we won't suffer from jet lag too badly!

So smoky due to the fires! We just wanted to get some air, finding the fresh stuff just south of the US/Canadian border.

We stopped at a fruit stand in Summerland to get gifts. Stopped at the border to give them all of our tomatoes and green onions. Stopped to convert the car's electronics back to miles from kilometers. Finally stopping at Leavenworth for the ...
