... Weather was pretty iffy most of the day but was a very scenic route. Stopped at Astoria at the Best Western - good hotel - rate $108 plus $15 for George. Was clean and relatively new. Ate dinner at the Ship Inn which was a good seafood place. Basic and definitely not fine dining but good ...

... hopefully next year it will be better......George started drooling before we hit Westbank and threw up his breakfast (note to self not to let him eat before we leave) before we got to Penticton. Anacortes was filled with bikies. There were thousands. The main street and side streets were all blocked off and the bikes just lined the streets. We were going to stop and have a look but there were no spaces to park so we kept on driving. The guy at the motel ...

... car left. We ended up getting turned off the Bikie run and down the next street. The local people lined the streets to watch the procession of bikes. We could only get photos from the car as we couldn't find a park anywhere. All the side streets for about 6 blocks were blocked off and they just had Bike displays, stalls selling stuff, Motorbike acrobats etc. It would have been a good day to don my leather chaps and jacket. Nearly all the bikes were Harleys and ...
