The parents visit

... before and had never really seen the point. Here was a pretty good place to start though and I really enjoyed finding all these exotic fish and chasing after them. I was a little dissappoointed that i didn't see any (non-aggressive) sharks, moray eels or octupii but that just leaves them for another time. The coral was beautiful and it felt like another adventure. Another day we went to some waterfalls, led by a grumpy guide who left us there. The falls were very nice and ...

Easter in Tobago

... someone's groin). They wouldn't stop just because the girl said no or said she wasn't interested or pushed the guy away. When they did give up they'd go to the next girl in the group. As soon as one guy left a girl there would be ten to take his place. I was glad to be a boy. The party stopped when a policeman with a shotgun raised in the air ordered everyone to turn the music off.

Limes and Doubles

... else. In many places there are people selling "doubles" out of the backs of trucks...for example at the airport in Trinidad. A double is two pieces of fried dough filled with a concoction of curry and spices and pigeon peas, covered in green and hot sauces...and doubles are fantastic. A double double (two doubles) costs a little more than $1.00 and is a very filling breakfast!

As we weren't twitchers (bird watchers) we got the full round up including tail-less whip scorpions, trapdoor spiders, tree snakes, giant land crabs (well spotted by Karen actually) as well as dozens of colourful bird varieties that Tobago has become famous in the birdwatching community for. The trapdoors were most interesting of ...

T and T, or was that G and T

We could feel it looming - like the promise of Argentina's paved, painted, signed-posted roads after the torturous, dust and gravel roads of Chile - the return of English to our daily lives. Of course, in Tobago it's not quite English that's spoken, mon, but we got by. We were tired. Fatigued from too much Spanish, too much must do this, must see that, too much manaña, manaña. Tobago was to be an easy ...
