    ... horrific ones too. There is an English theatre, it's closed at the moment but outside is a cupboard with novels in and on it a sign saying that they are free to take.     Of course today is the biggest picture day...the Middle Rhine where all the castles are one after another. We awoke to fog so we were a little worried but the captain slowed the ship and the fog lifted and it was a perfect day. Still a little chilly up on the sun deck but beautiful.     ... and new, ancient and modern. I found a delicious bakery called "Der Backer Eifler" which I thought was a gem of a spot, and throughout the day noticed it's a pretty popular chain in Frankfurt…but with good reason. For an ice cold Orange Juice and a massive chocolate croissant (my breakfast for the following two mornings as well) was an economical 1 Euro 90. Cheap never tasted so good.

    Frankfurt appears to be an industrialized city. We hope to take a city tour tomorrow and discover more about the area. Our hotel is lovely (Holiday Inn) and we have a wonderful view with a balcony that overlooks the city. And the hotel has an ICE MACHINE !!     ... had an account since the last week in January...but still no pin number for my atm card. isn't that nice? To top it off, the people at the bank are not allowed to tell you your pin. Instead they have to mail it to you...for a fee. Also, the bank holding my blocked account refuses to give me all of my money because they didn't take into account the exchange rate change that took place before my money was transfered over.
