Although we travel through 68 locks, today I think has to be lock day. You can't really count the night time ones and some are a bit 'Mickey Mouse' but today's are serious locks. Today we arrived in Nuremberg after a seemingly long train ride. We are staying in a hostel very near the Köngistraße (main shopping street) which has lots and lots of shops and tourist attractions. We slept in today and began our day a bit late. But the sky is blue and the weather is warm! We decided to go on a walking tour of the city 'inside the walls'. Sunday 8th September
A much quieter day as we stayed on board. When we docked at Vilshofen the supplies came on board.We had a brief stroll around the village then set sail for Passau where we docked at around 2.

... around the Main Square later - time to taste some of the local specialty - Lebkuchen (gingerbread - with spices rather than ginger). Nuremburg is also famous for toys and there are many stalls selling toys (& what seems to be everyone's castoffs).
Evening entertainment by a local singer who sang songs from various European countries (in their own languages). She was particularly good at Edith Piaf songs.
