We left Rabac and took the short 25 min ferry to the island of Cres. While waiting to set sail we were treated to a display of a pod of dolphins having great fun jumping around right in front of the boat which was great to see. Stormy weather
... wasn't that much fun. The sun had just set, the info person sent us off on foot to a b&b that was full. We had to deal with hustlers trying to get us into gypsy cabs. Finally the harbor police steered us to the city bus that took us to the train station. There we found a hotel room close to the train station for our 0900 trip the next day.
Grabbed a soda and a gyro and called it a night.

Split splat and taking a bath in Dubrovnik
Saturday was suppose to be our first Croatian port of Split. But at 8am, the captain came on the intercom to say that due to 1 ½ meter swells, it was not safe to tender boats to the port (Spilt doesn’t have a dock big/deep enough for our ship so people are tendered via the lifeboats to the port). Instead of stopping at Split, we would go on to Dubrovnik and have a overnight stay there. So Spilt will have to be visited on a future cruise - disappointing - but understandable ...
