    ... a French styled paradise . Two decades later they were "given" the area of Turin, Sardinia, Piedmont and Nice. The Duke of Savoy loved the area so much he wanted to unify all the piecemeal areas and a "parliament " was established in Torino, the Kingdom of Italy was established and Duke Carlo Emanuele II became the first King of Italy.

    We found Torino an absolute wonder of tree-lined avenues, palaces and churches full of baroque decadence . A few tourists ...

    ... we found this amazing local Pizza place, it one that the locals use, so there was no English going on at all. But we got 2 medium Pizza's for euros 7, can't moan about that, and we couldn't even eat it all.

    The following morning we had arranged to see the The Shroud of Turin, due to circumstances this did not happen, but we went off to our next destination, Capena Rome.

    After our night in the hotel at Turin we got on our bus, and headed out to see the Shroud of Turin. The bus dropped us off fa little ways from the Shroud so we had to walk about half a mile.     From Venice we hopped yet another train to Turin. We asked where would be a good place to go check out on our way to Paris, as that's where we are flying out of to head home. The lady at the hotel highly recommended Florence. Been there. We were thinking Milan or Turin. She said Turin - Milan has nothing but shopping. The train ride was... Warm.
