      ... nice and clean in the city too, not sure if that is because Pope Francis is coming soon or if that is normal, but we appreciated it!       ... was built 859 as a fortress. It has the most amazing medieval terraces with an internal garden and the most beautiful room I have ever seen.       The original plan was to take a narrow gauge railway up into the hills for a typical Sunday outing but I found it was under maintenance so decided instead to go to Turin 167 km north. Tickets €24.40 return (about $38) so good value, much faster than yesterday's train so we did it in 2 hours. Really interesting landscape with some very long tunnels at first.
