If you are going to provide a commentary on what happens on your travels, then you have to report on everything and not skate over certain topics.

So it is with a certain reluctance that I have to relate the following tale, since I seem to have been branded by certain members of the family and a particular neighbour as being a little on the wild side or a bit of a loose cannon - worthy of a clip around the ear - was a comment made ...

We found ourselves in Genoa today. We did a hop on hop off double decker bus ride. We found out this is where Christopher Columbus is from and saw many monuments for him and his house!

... is reputed to be the ruins of Columbus's house. From here we went to the Piazza De Ferrari where we had a light lunch and then admired the buildings around the square. Nearby is the shopping area, many fine shops in shaded colonnades with beautiful mosaic flooring. We made our way slowly back, retracing our steps and enjoying the fact that it was downhill. In the narrow streets at the bottom of the ...

Thank you so much for all your emails, Facebook messages and on the blog comments. I had a great birthday. An early start with our Aussie friends giving me a nice bag from Ibiza at breakfast. Anchored off shore in the bay of Villefrance it was impressive coming in to land with the multi coloured houses running down to the sea with caves and restaurants lining ...
