      ... 776BC and the connected temple complex with phenomenal. The site was complete with intact mosaic floors, grandstands and gyms. An unfortunately timed earthquake toppled some of what would have been the more amazing temples but did not take away from the site as a whole. A couple of Gyros later we made it to Patra.       ... smile as I passed but certainly never got any such in return. They simply just stared as they passed and that was it. Was i on a prison ship or was I wearing the wrong colour clothes or what!!       ... Sweet. We wandered around and up into the castle itself climbing the steep stairs and looking out onto the city. There were incredible views that went on for miles. We clambered out onto the ramparts and wondered who else had watched the views from ages past,maybe watching for invaders or even just trading ships.

Unfortunately his driving left a lot to be desired and after the scariest hour I’ve endured on the road we arrived at the hostel to find that we couldn’t pay. Apparently Italian taxis don’t accept visa (or any cards at that) and atms aren’t in abundance in small town Italy.
