... museum, was glad to see us since it was a slow day. The Torrey pine is only growing in two places, both in California. There are trials and beaches in this area with beautiful overlooks. We did a 2/3 mile hike on the easy trail. The trees and other vegetation is really scruffy, but it only gets 9 inches of rain in a good year. It has not had a good year. The park is quite high up looking down on the beautiful blue waters.

... setting up on the beach. When Mark was booking the hotel, he noticed that one of the services that the Del offered was family portraits. We chose to have our photos taken here as this is such a spectacular setting with the beach and the iconic Del architecture in the background.

  • Botanical Building - built in 1915 with spectacular orchids and other tropical plants inside
  • We enjoyed watching people, especially around the big fountain on the east side of the park – until it got too cold and we decided we go and have a coffee.

    ... 25 minutes or so. Eventually they came back in shivering and we returned to the hostel. Crystal was shoeless and so we had to return to the beach to look for them. However we couldn't find them. It was as this stage Crystal suggested that she didn't remember leaving the night club with them. And perhaps they were there. Haha.
