    Arrived in Dubai 1pm Arab time had a great flight 18hrs on the plane came out into 40 degree heat - bit of a shock. Found cab easily, thanks to Kim's advice cost us 42 dirhum about $15.     ... has always lived beyond its means and I think it is finally catching up with them! After all we have hit 'peak oil'! Upon arrival at the hotel it is amazing!! 5 star luxury :) I was worried I may have to.lie like a lobster on a sun lounger until check in time, but luckily they asked if I wanted to change to a twin room, ready immediately.     ... was not very fun. Other than some games we played and some jokes we cracked, the cruise was really dull and the food wasn't great either. 3 hours later, we were grateful that it was over. Yet another [moderate] fail. When we got back to the hotel, I bid my sister farewell as she was going back to the US a day early, and I could not come in the cab. So I waited until my parents came back from the airport, and then I retired.

    ... on water park ride after ride... it was quite a park! There is a "lazy river" that you can take from one part of the park to another (it even went uphill!), so that you really almost never have to get out of the water.
