Town closed for prayers in morning. Relaxation day - back across creek to Gold Souk to buy gifts...found enough stores open to get what we wanted. Nice atmosphere when nobody around. Good coffee at Creekside. Back to Dubai Mall in arvo to get Nespresso capsules, which I forgot yesterday. Planned to have dinner at licenced restaurants across from mall, ...

If you are in the UK, watching a nativity play, it is quite easy to spot the cast as most have towels wrapped around their heads and are usually under 5 years old. However, here everyone looked like either a shepherd, one of the 3 kings or a wise man!!!

After an excitable greeting at Okecie with our friends, and throwing our heavy rucksacks onto the baggage conveyor, we made our way through security and into duty free. Being more used to WizzAir procedures than the 'grown-up' airlines, we were both surprised when boarding commenced almost an hour before take-off! A quick basket-dash around duty-free to pick up some handy 50cl plastic bottles of Ballantines (purely to kill the potentially nasty Thai water bugs) and ...
