The next day we pack up and head up the mountain to over 9800 feet across the Great Divide and start heading east. We have cut the trip short by three months. We won’t get to see the rest of the west and we are both sorely disappointed. The only thing that I can think about now is getting home.

Along the way we have problems with the water pump (a sealer on the going home deal!). It takes us about another six days to limp home. I am still feeling the effects ...

    A BIRTHDAY FLIGHT

... on my All Blacks' jersey [hey, they are the champs]. Solo to the mv. Not too much snow around the car.

An hour later I was home, greeted by my mom, bro Gary down for a visit and little Tabu.

Some final points. The birthday number? 59 years young. Tabu, Jools Baby, is my parents' now nine year old Siamese cat. He does like his pea meal bacon in the morning. Never did try the mauby, perhaps a reflection on a less than successful trip.

... I was travelling with hand luggage only which would be a big relief from my trip last Oct thru the Balkans when I had all my luggage from Korea. I wanted to take the 508 streetcar in the morning which comes from the Humber loop, and down King St towards Union Station. I waited 20 mins and the streetcar never showed, part of ongoing issues I ...

Today we drove to Book Road for the meeting, as Uncle Carl was doing the exhortation. The size of the ecclesia was doubled by all the conference attendees, and it was so nice to see so many of them after saying goodbye yesterday. The exhortation was very thought-provoking. Uncle Carl explored the theme of the faithfulness of Yahweh in keeping his promises and therefore the response we need to have in being faithful ourselves. There was a 'potluck' lunch which ...

... with points on it from all his hotel stays. He had enough points to get us in a hotel for the night! We felt bad stealing all the points, especially considering the Pipe's would be needing them sometime for down in Virginia. We ended up figuring out a deal where we could pay some and use points for the rest. $25 each for a room at the Marriott. Not bad! Not bad at all...
