... We got to our hotel, The Silver Cloud, around 2:30am and could not wait to get some shut eye. We needed to be fresh for the next big day, trying to get as much in of the city as possible.

Good news was that breakfast was included in our stay, so after a good brekkie, we took a quick walk along the waterfront area in front of our hotel to see some of our surroundings, including the local Sea Plane Airport.

After that, I walked up and down all of Broadway about five millions times. I went into some local shops and also a Dick Blick, where I bought some paint. I went grocery shopping and discovered that fruit here is VERY expensive.

I ate lunch at a local place called La Cocina. And I had my first chimichanga in over 10 years. They had meatless crumbles as ...

So apparently there are only 70 days a year in Seattle when it doesn't rain. And as I absolutely adore the sunshine you would think that I would automatically hate the place. I fact I was pretty sure that once I had ticked a tour of the Boeing Factory and a visit to the first Starbucks off the list, that would be it for me and Seattle would be 'done'... How wrong could I be! I bloody love it here. So much so that if I could I would sell the ...

... Northwest weather! We attempted to hang out at the beach but when you
start using towels as blankets you know it time to go home. We walked back
along the Marina to the locks in Ballard; it was nice to see the locks but not
much competition on the Panama Canal.

Tues 10 – Kayaking at Lake Washington on the University of
Washington campus was next on the list. It took a lot ...
