I heard a siren sounding when I was asleep and didn't take any notice of it. We look out the window and it's raining. The hotel doesn't supply breakfast, but they have coffee and a kettle in the room. There is a cafe on the street outside of the hotel. I get some milk and a croissant and go back to the room. We decide to go out around 11 and look out the window to see the streets flooded. The sirens that I heard we a warning that the ...

... catching them and getting photos amongst them which was not something I wanted to do - so we walked down the little lanes and got lost in all the streets and bridges going over the canals. We had a walk along the beach, which Logan was staggered at (see photo) and he had a cool down swim - his first in the sea!

... and the wonderful opportunity to see inside the different synagogues, each one built for a Jews from different regions, with different customs. You can leave the ghetto onto the second widest canal in Venice, then follow it round back onto the main thoroughfare between the Rialto and the station. I can honestly say I am worn out, so it off to find somewhere for dinner and then rest up before my last morning in Venice before setting off to Ravenna. Sleep well ...

... was about a block from Rialto Bridge. It took about 10 minutes to walk there with a detailed street map. After dinner we walked over to Marco plaza for some gelato. So many pigeons there. Disgusting! We were all so tired so we walked a bit and then went back to hotel. I was up 30 hours so I fell asleep at 7:30pm Venice time. Slept about 4-5 and now I'm wide awake. Body all out of ...
