      ... going to scheme to leave him behind anyway.. and I really do like to think of him living out his days in a campo in venezia!). We tried a couple pictures but too dark.... Im finally pulled it together, and then the boys started melting down. Karl came to stand out with me and mark went in with Kurt, karl was totally losing it, getting all worked up, I think majorly exhausted... I just kind of held on to him and ignored his wails, and tried to focus on my last few beautiful moments in Venice! ...

      ... amazing pastries and coffee. I ate an enormous meringue of which Julia documented every single bite. Then on the move again. Now she took us to a little local library. I am used to the one room library thing after growing up in a small rural town, but not one that is is a 15th century Schola. No worries, they ahd a new floor put in in the 1700s. Crazy. I am now expecting all libraries to have 500 year old frescoes on the walls ...

      ... Canal. After crossing this and taking many pictures we were finally in San Marco, then began the quest of finding Piazza San Marco, which eventually we did. It was massive! Surrounding the square were restaurants and live bands, the square was filled with tourists and of course pigeons.       ... in search of new pads for a day or so. We found them this afternoon in Venice but they needed to be ordered so won't be in till tomorrow morning. Hence the second night in Venice. Not keen for a repeat performance (literally) of last night we headed out round the peninsula in the hope of a quieter, cooler night. We had a walk along the beach, which Logan was staggered at (see photo) and he had a cool down swim - his first in the sea!
