          Great Hotel

The hotel was in a great location really close to the underground and right down the street from Checkpoint Charlie. The staff was really helpful answering all my questions and offering advice. The internet is only free in the lobby area, which was a bit of a pain - but not a deal breaker. There is a supermarket directly across the street which is very convenient. The room itself had a very comfy bed and a small kitchenette. The TV and air conditioning worked very well. Would definitely stay here again!

30 years ago, being Jewish in Germany would have been extremely uncomfortable, but after staying in this hotel, my worries about gastapo bursting through the door were put to rest and I was able to get more than a decent night's sleep. The customer service was superb and I thoroughly enjoyed the lack of anti-Semitism. It's definitely on the top of my list to revisit.

... and many of the houses are very worn down and tired looking. Also, everything just looks tired verses in West Germany you can tell that it is very lively. According to one of my friends, East Germany still has not fully recovered from the war and their infrastructure is quite poor.

Once we got to Berlin, we went to the Berliner Dom, which is a very large and famous church in Berlin. It was huge and very ornate, which is different than the ...

... is probably a large part of why Berlin is such a popular place to live. Had a great time with the lads from back home in Berlin and was glad to get out of the UK for new year finally. Will now be back in Manchester and London for a week each and away for a weekend in Suffolk before my 'proper' travels start in Cairns, Australia on the 19th of ...

He walked past me and smiled. What you would expect on a sunny nice day in Potsdam. The kind of smile you give when you can see someone is enjoying themselves.

But that kind of smiles goes when you continue walking and doing your own thing.

This smile....he looked at me the whole time he walked around the side of the tree, and the turned in a snake and continued looking, and then even as he slowly walked ...

... And t-shirts. It becomes abundantly clear that this unique light is a big draw for the city.

At some point during the afternoon, it occurred to us that it was the Fourth of July. Regardless of where we were in the world, we couldn't let the anniversary of the day we defeated the extraterrestrial menace of 1996 go uncelebrated, and we found a bar, Belushi's Cafe, that was completely decked out for the holiday and serving authentic, disgusting American ...
