Enjoyed our croissants, jam, juice and coffee with Ted and Irene then drove by a river and went for an 11.5 KLM walk along the river, some nice houses, gardens and men fishing - stopped for hot chocolate in an outdoor café and returned to Hotel in time to be picked up for our picnic by a lake in the hills. Good fun sitting in the sun then another ...

Visited Vienne today, a Roman town, one of Gaul's largest settlements. It became a Roman Colony in 47 BC under Julius Caesar. There were many Roman remains which are constantly being discovered in this city of about 30,000 residents. We visited the remains of a Roman road for chariots with our guide Camille, the Temple ...

So Friday, a couple of us met to walk up to the basilica, which you can see on top if the hill in the background in the pictures I put up last time. It's in Vieux Lyon and it's a bit if a hike up, but in total from my house it probably only takes about 25 minutes!! The steps up look about as daunting as the ...

Sue, Robin, and I met our guide Jillian and 12 other adventuresome women in Lyon's airport. Names I remember so far: Kate, Sue, Harlene, Pam, Anne , Wendy, Laurie, and now the rest have escaped me. The whole group looks like a fun bunch. Some look way more fit than others but that doesn't mean anything. The very frail lady probably just came from climbing the Alps. We are being transported on a very comfortable bus to Le Puy where we will spend the ...
