    ... k out and was clear sailing after that. We headed to Prien to see the last of king Ludwigs palaces. He built this on an island. We took a ferry to the island and spent a few hours doing the tour. Someone stole my umbrella from the storage area! The palace was only partially finished and what was completed was extremely ornate. The grand ballroom was a replica of the one in Versailles and was full of mirrors and chandeliers. Website ...

    ... lifts to the top and walking along the ridges right in the middle of the lovely Austrian alps.
    What we didn't know, was how much we would enjoy the resort. It was right on the edge of a delightful village. Ski village in the winter and hiking, biking and walking in the summer using the lifts and cable cars. They have two giant wheels driving the pumps, which chime on every rotation to indicate they are still operating, which they have done for around 150 years. We even tried a few drops of pure salt water, which has the highest possible salt saturation and just 2 drops were enough to make you thirsty!
