    ... slowly. Last night was very warm and no air-con. The surrounding villages and sights.are full of tourists this week, but it will be quieter next week when school resumes, and hopefully a little cooler.

    Andrew has just visited the bakery and returned with croissant and baguettes for our breafkast - so hard to resist.

    It's time to make my way from Nice back up towards Paris and stop number one is Avignon. Avignon is a little town in France and is built with a fortress wall all the way around the town. I stayed at the POP hostel which hands down has the best hostel bed in Europe. Unfortunately I do not have a picture but hopefully my description will do it ...

    ... 16 scotch for €53! ($60). That's crazy because it is (average) $100 in the US (Travis got our bottle for ~$80 after searching high and low (it was $120 in Breckenridge...)). The same bottle is the equivalent of $85-$90 in Scotland... sometimes we just don't understand pricing.

    ... we sat again with the interesting couples we met last night. There was a Captain’s toast which we missed since we got back late and it took some time to get dressed for the Captain’s Dinner. The menu was special tonight. I had escargot.
