... this blog into two parts.

I decided I would travel down to Shenzhen (effectively the border city between China & Hong Kong) during Halloween when Jacob came up to Changsha to visit, I said at the time that I would make the return visit and the past weekend, I finally found time to make the 3 1/2 hour trip on the Chinese Bullet Train down South to China's economic hub which Shenzhen has become.

... designating seating areas. It was interesting, but not overwhelmingly spectacular. After the show we took the ferry back across the harbour. Again, for 50 cents the view was amazing. That night we had Burgers at Triple O's, a Canadian fast food chain. The next day I took a bus across Hong Kong Island to aberdeen, where I met Kalvin and his Uncle for Dim Sum. ... we had mixed fortunes... overall, perhaps unsurprisingly, we came out with less money than we went in with! In anticipation of the imminent arrival of David's third grandchild, we put a bet on a horse called 'Bundle of Joy', that came in third. This proved to be more than a coincidence as we learnt later that Milly Rose was born that night!

... see the Chi Linn Buddhist Nunnery. So after a swiftish breakfast we hop on the underground and get there. Our day today is broken. Despite the fact that although we don't sail until 6 this evening, we have to clear immigration early this afternoon. At least that was the excuse Martin used when as I get out of the station I see a huge enormous Marks & Spencer's, and even better with a half price sale! So we walk on by one ...

Both of us had a dreadful sleep. Janet didn't get to sleep till 4am and I didn't sleep after 4am! Both of us had too much on our minds. We got up , showered, dressed and packed by 10 so went up to try yet again to checkin on line.
