... that was the only source of light. First when we came in there were wooden boards for plates with knifes and HUGE napkins. The guy came in and told us we had to use our fingers and we could use the knife for the bread. And you could wipe your fingers if they were dirty on the other persons hair. I know this sounds crazy but it is true.Catherine, mommy's friend, was with us. The swim meet was a fun swim meet. Mommy posted some pictures on the blog. I raced 25m backstroke, ...

We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas. We spent time wandering the streets and spending some tourist euros. We also found a good bakery/cafe and indulged ...

... the end and we managed to check in with no problems to our tiny room in the Disneylandesque street of Romerhofgasse. The highlight of a visit to Kufstein is the Fortress. It towers over the city high above and we are only a short walk from the panorama cable car that delivers you to the top. There is a maze of towers, bastions, batteries, chambers and passages, many of which have historical displays. Most had descriptions in ...
