... allocated a platform. We left right on time and had a good trip to Verona Porto Nuovo but were 17 minutes late getting there. We had to wait 30 minutes for our Munich train to arrive. This was the reverse of our earlier trip from Nuremburg via the Brenner pass but seeing it a second time was just as beautiful and there was more snow. We arrived in Munich at 6.30 pm and had no trouble getting a taxi to our first airbnb apartment ...

I particularly love our location right next to the Viktualmarkt where you can pick up any kind of food—fruits, sausages, olives, veggies, wine, cheeses, and, of course, beer. Where Switzerland was all gorgeous and small hostels of wood Munich is big city concrete and all bustling with people. After dumping my things and adding about a billion (3) layers I wander out to take advantage of the fact that it's not dark until after 9 buy walking to a nearby park with a large female statue who is ...

... We got there about midday, couldn't find Jason and Brad, got a table with some American dudes, Tommy and Matt, and their Mexican mate Fed. We got ourselves a beer and, as happens at the Oktoberfest, a party ensued. As the pictures show there was a lot of entertainment and a lot a very drunk people. Got talking to some German girls in traditional dresses. Hans, an Austrian who spends two months every year in NZ came and drank with us, and he knew the beer wenches, so we got very ...
