Budapester Strasse 34 Dresden, Saxony, Germany, 01069, 351-473800
hello! hope this meets everyone well. I am in Dresden, and doing fine. This was a quiet stay for me filled with walking around and seeing the sights. I chose not to do a tour because I really just wanted to be on my own schedule and not be inundated with information. After Berlin I really needed to sit, reflect, and absorb my surroundings. Dresden was a ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany kostandina... a little tour of Dresden too which was really nice! There are some pretty impressive old building. Well technically they are old but were almost destroyed in the war. They have only been rebuilt in the last 5 to 10 years which is amazing! Had a wicked Turkish vegie plate then said our goodbyes and got on the train back to Berlin. Back to public transport for us!
Dresden, Saxony, Germany emmasadventures... I yelled it out! Herron Paracetamol has been my savour. I pop a couple of those and I walk around on a cloud. Music sounds better, everything looks prettier.

I'm off to Munich for Oktoberfest now. Don't know how I am going to handle drinking a beer. Probably going to mix it with some Paracetamol!

Regards

Hard en
Dresden, Saxony, Germany bharden... city that was so old, I was amazed at how little was left after the bombings. It looked as though I was in Darwin, a city that has been twice destroyed in its life time. Everything was new and modern, but what was truly incredible were the old buildings that either survived or had been rebuilt. These buildings were absolutely beautiful in their intricacy. Whats more is that most of the ancient buildings had to be rebuilt, a painstakingly slow process. You could see ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany danielmataylor... as if going to Berlin and then swerved and flew over Dresden.

The first two runs were British with the final run being American. Our guide said the first run concentrating on dropping what I would call percussion bombs which blew out windows and doors. This was to create wind tunnels. The second run dropped small incendiary bombs which would start a small fire. The fires were so small they could easily be put out with a bucket of water, a ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany carpefeline... few blocks until we finally found it. Once inside the restaurant, we knew we had made a good choice. The atmosphere of the place was great and the person that we assumed to be the manager/owner was very nice, suggesting his favorite meals. I ordered pasta with a white wine type sauce with rabbit. It was very good, however there was some sort of spice or something in the sauce that left a funny aftertaste, and I couldn’t finish it (but the fact that I was eating rabbit didn ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany ab10... nice stroll around the lake side. We headed back to her place and grabbed the dog and took her for a run by the river. It really was a nice relaxing day hanging out with a local and doing normal stuff instead of eating at tourist traps. I boarded the train around 2pm and was on my way to Dresdedn, FINALLY!! I arrived and from the second I got off the train I was pretty umimpressed. The hostel that I was staying in was not the worst but ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany mike81... and am always on the go while traveling. We went to the world's most beautiful dairy (as it is billed) - what the heck??? People go there just to eat some cheese and get a glass of buttermilk??? Not my type of attraction. After, we walked down Hauptstrasse, a nice pedestrian street. It's lined with restaurants and shops but was dead at this time. We popped into a market to check it out - it was pretty typical stuff. We crossed ...
Dresden, Germany pwong... seen people line up to get into church. See the pictures...it is pretty amazing! A little history about the Frauenkirche: on Feb. 13 and 14, 1945, bombs were dropped on Dresden even though some felt the war was pretty much over. Over 35,000 people died and most of the city was destroyed. When the smoke cleared the Frauenkirche ...
Dresden, Germany barbgDresden is flooded. What a summer, missed trains, hitchhiking, and a natural disaster. Apparently I did luck out and got on one of the last few trains out of Munich. Many of the tracks are now washed away. It rained on Sunday, worse on Monday, even more that night, and was sprinkling today. I went to work but I had to leave as there was no power and no one was there. I had some problems getting back, the road was a little flooded. I then ...
