At the moment this seems to be a major part of the attraction for the young backpackers who come over from Britain and other places. They might lose some tourist dollars if they crack down too ...
Amsterdam and 7 days bike and barge
... lounge and dining, open top deck above, and the cabins sitting at waterline. Our fellow passengers are mainly German speakers, so our patient tour leader Ari translates into English for 6 of us, including 2 Aussies and 2 Canadians. We also have two Swiss couples and three from Slovenia, and we gradually over the week have had more conversations with them. My special treat is having Piek on board with us- from Rotterdam, we were exchange students in NY together all those years ago ...

Braucam kopā ar Radovan uz Amsterdamas centru.
Vakarā uztaisījām vakariņas ar Radovan, uz vakariņām nāca arī Olga un vēl viens čalis.
Pēc tam mēs ar Olgu un to čali gājām prom, jo pie Radovan brauca ciemos brālis.

Leaving Paris, Amsterdam
... the city.
*With the exception of our hotel staff, the ladies at the Patisserie, and the people at the Delmas cafe we frequented, we found the French people in Paris were very abrupt, bordering on rude. (We had been warned they weren't too friendly to tourists).
*We enjoyed listening to the French language - very melodic and sort of sexy.
*There were quite a few fashionalbe people around and not a great deal of overweight French people.
